The instrument can be configured to utilize on/off, proportional (P), proportional-integral (PI), or PID controlling for specific process requirements. The on/off control is useful for continuous processes with a small waste flow rate and a large residence time within the control system. The modulated output of proportional control may reduce chemical use. The meter has automatic one-, two-, or three-point calibration at pH 4.01, 7.01, and 10.01.

 

Output is analog and galvanically isolated and can drive any compatible device, such as an electro valve or pump. The setpoint relay consists of two solid state relays with 1A, 250 VAC resistive and inductive load and are fuse-protected by 2A, 250V fast fuses to prolong switching device life. A failsafe alarm system protects against power interruption or line failure. The alarm relay is a one-contact output single-pole double-throw (SPDT) 5A-250VAC switch with a 5A-30VDC resistive load and fuse-protected with a 5A, 250V fuse. Overcurrent protection is provided by a 400mA 250V fast fuse.

 

Differential input for a grounding bar extends electrode life. The input impedance is 10 E 12 Ohm. The power supply is 115VAC and power consumption is 15 volt-amperes (VA). The pH 502421-1 controller comes with mounting brackets and instructions.
