หมายเหตุ หลักการเมื่อวัดความขรุขระของผิวเซนเซอร์จะถูกวางลงบนพื้นผิวและจากนั้นจะเลื่อนไปตามพื้นผิวโดยการขับกลไกภายในเครื่องทดสอบ เซ็นเซอร์รับความขรุขระของผิวโดยหัววัดที่มีอยู่ในตัว ความขรุขระนี้ทำให้เกิดการกระจัดของหัววัดซึ่งส่งผลให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงจำนวนเหนี่ยวนำของขดลวดเหนี่ยวนำเพื่อสร้างสัญญาณอะนาล็อกซึ่งเป็นไปตามความหยาบของผิวที่ปลายเอาต์พุตของเฟสที่มีความละเอียดอ่อน
